Young-Worker-StressThe job uncertainty in UK seems to be raising as people feel more pressure at work due to job cuts and diminished control over jobs according to national survey of employees.

Both, public and private sector workers are increasingly worried about their jobs, 52% of them are concerned about job status loss. However the biggest concern among people interviewed was the fear of wage reduction, 31% were concerned of unfair treatment at the workplace. The participants in the survey stated they are working harder, quicker and on a tight schedule, to meet deadlines. Job stress has gone up to new levels as 40% of people state they are working at extremely high speed.

The increasing intensity on the job was not always particularly related to companies reducing staff but with the ongoing technological change. Business specialists encourage companies to use more the technique of employee participation in order to boost their motivation. More empowerment could lead to more responsibility on the job which offsets the employee feeling of substitutability. Others, blame the economic conditions for the situation they are into, concluding that peoples happiness should be a basic value on which business is made.
