US shares followed the massive sell-off, observed in Asia and Europe on Friday, as Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted almost 3% (approximately 500 points) to 17,483.48 moments after the US session began.
S&P 500 lost a bit more than 80 points to 2,039.50 at the open.
The technological Nasdaq 100 benchmark dropped a bit over 150 points to 4,294.80 at the start of the session.
