According to a report by the Business Journal last week, citing sources, Amy Montagne has been promoted to vice president and general manager of global categories at Nike Inc (NKE).
Nike shares closed lower for the second time in the past seven trading sessions on Monday. It has also been the steepest daily loss since April 18th. The stock went down 1.68% ($1.17) to $68.39, with the intraday high and the intraday low being at $69.81 and $68.39 respectively.
In the week ended on April 29th the shares of the athletic apparel manufacturer added 5.25% to their market value compared to a week ago, which marked the best performance since the week ended on December 17th 2017.
The stock rose 2.93% in April, which marked the first gain out of three months.
For the entire past year, the shares of the NYSE-listed manufacturer surged 23.06% following an 18.67% slump in 2016.
Montagne succeeds former global categories head Jayme Martin, who parted ways with the company in March after reports emerged that complaints of workplace misconduct were being investigated.
Montagne, who began her career at the athletic apparel company back in 2005 as business director for North America kids apparel, is expected to report directly to Michael Spillane, Nikes president of categories and product, the Business Journal said.
The appointment followed another promotion of a female employee at Nike – that of Kellie Leonard, who had been elevated to chief diversity and inclusion officer.
According to CNN Money, the 31 analysts, offering 12-month forecasts regarding Nike Incs stock price, have a median target of $75.00, with a high estimate of $80.00 and a low estimate of $50.00. The median estimate is a 9.67% surge compared to the closing price of $68.39 on April 30th.
The same media also reported that 15 out of 35 surveyed investment analysts had rated Nike Incs stock as “Hold”, while 14 – as “Buy”.
