Consumer Inflation

Sweden’s annualized consumer inflation probably was at 0% in February, according to market expectations, following six consecutive months of deflation. In monthly terms, consumer prices probably gained 0.6% in February, following a 1.1% drop in January. The latter has been the largest monthly CPI fall in at least four years. The index measures the change in price levels of a basket of goods and services from consumer’s perspective and also reflects purchasing trends. The nation’s annualized core CPI probably advanced 0.7% in February, after a 0.6% increase in January. In case consumer inflation was reported at higher-than-anticipated levels, this would certainly support the local currency. Statistics Sweden is to release the official report at 8:30 GMT.
